Love has many definitions. The article “What is Love?” has been written before. This article is just a short article about the perspective of love. The article's author made an explicit comparison: He compared love to “eating meatballs.”
If today we love someone, whether it is a friend, sibling, parent, child, relative, or lover, then ask how much we love that person.
It doesn't seem easy to answer directly. It is something that needs to be explained. Some people may have some answers in their minds. But if we compare one person and another, how much do you love each person? We may only be able to answer more or less or respond in the manner of loving differently, to the point that sometimes we are not sure…
Love and Eating Meatballs
I heard someone explain his love for his child interestingly. He wrote a brief description as follows:
Let’s say we are someone who likes to eat meatballs.
If we have money, we will buy/order meatballs for ourselves to eat.
If we “love our friends,” we will be happy to share them with our friends.
If we have a “lover,” it is possible that we will give them all the meatballs. But we may secretly feel sorry. (Some people may choose to share)
But for him, “loving his child” is not just about giving it to him but also wanting his child to eat it and being happy to see him finish it.
Although the owner of this story compares it to loving his child, many people who love their children still feel sorry for the meatballs or share them…
The important thing about this is to help us review: If we believe that we love someone today, how much do we really love them? If we love someone and still feel sorry for the meatballs, maybe this love still needs to be prepared…
But if we love and do not feel sorry, that may mean that we are happy to give in to that love. It will be less painful if we understand it deeply enough…
